traffic in Falmouth

Monroe Park, in Goldvein, Va. was our destination. Claire, Ellen, Lei, Lynn, Mary, Rosemary, Rosi and I met on a perfect weather day for a ride. The morning temps were cool, putting most of us in leather jackets and chaps. Mary was unable to ride with us due to an ankle injury, but accompanied us to a nearby area where we all posed for a photo-opt.

We took a leisurely ride on Rt. 28 to Rt. 17 which led us to Monroe Park. Gold used to run through "them ther hills" in Virginia and Monroe Park is a gold mining camp museum. Comprised of 3 buildings, the exhibits provide a glimpse in to the life of prospectors and miners in the 1800's. More information may be found at: http://www.goldvein.com/

After touring the buildings and grounds of Monroe Park, we rode on to Falmouth for lunch at Amy's Cafe. Not only is this restaurant motorcycle-friendly, but the food is good too! Check it out at: http://www.amyscafefalmouth.com/

After lunch, we ventured north on Rt. 1 where each member began to peel-off towards their own destination. The weather had been picture-perfect all day, the ride a good one. Let's hope for continued good riding days!
