Another Weekend Of Work At The Malaty Home! A ready-to-work crew of volunteers including Philipp Marschall, Alex Abdelnour, Lindsey Pelych, Jesse Prager, Marlena Kauer, Kenneth Eskew, Ramon Gonzalez, Bill Buck, Stanley Kovak, Steve Fedos and Frank Jacquette split into groups for a final push on two mighty tasks and by Friday’s end the crew had removed the remaining brush and undergrowth and brought the roof replacement project to near completion. Go Volunteers!! A fantastic lunch was provided by Cheryl Taylor—thank you for your generosity, Cheryl.
Some of Friday’s volunteers returned to work on Saturday with volunteers from Grace United Methodist Church. Dave Dallas, Marlena Kauer, Carol Gohn, Kenneth Eskew, Philipp Marschall, Steve Fedos, Ruth Ann Abrams, Brian Cali, Brandon Cali, Dave Wurst, Shawn Wurst, Robert Silva, and Mary DiPaolo put the final touches on the roof and demolished a dilapidated and unsafe tool shed. Sledge hammers, chain saw and pry bars made short work of the project. The “Crew Fantastic” finished the new roof installation and the ground crew filled yet another 30 yard roll off dumpster. A special lunch was provided by the “Diamonds in The Rough” (Mary DiPaolo, Jeanne Katz, Ellen Taylor and Lynn Meadows) ladies-only motorcycle club. Several riders from the club brought their parade-quality metric cruiser motorcycles to the lunch. What a treat! Many thanks to all the volunteers who came out to work on this hot and humid July volunteer effort. View the exciting photos in our Photo Gallery.
